I love these moments where a train car of strangers (new term: traingers) collect together and agree. Sometimes it’s an odor, sometimes a rude patron. And some days like today, it’s over a beautiful knitting man, with a long beard and golden hair. Breaking sterorypes and weaving our happiness in with his yarn. I hope the sweater brings him as much joy as it gave us.

NYC moment of beauty
There’s a man in this subway car knitting. It’s a turquoise and coral sweater that looks cozy and beautiful. Much like him. He has a long beard that naturally falls dangerously close to his knitting needles. His hair and his beard are almost as two toned as the sweater, making him the most casual looking oddball on this New York City train. The man sitting next to me couldn’t stop smiling and took a picture of the Marvel (capitalized because he looks like he could be a superhero. His powers would be a mix of Spider-Man and Michael, of Michael's). Each of the women sitting next to him made eye contact with me and collectively we couldn’t stop smirking. And still on he knitted, ambivalent to the attention he was receiving, either entirely unaware or rather used to it.
